Birding in NYC with Gabriel Willow: Spring Migration

Venue: 92Y

Location: Lexington Avenue at 92nd St

Date: Passed Event Dates

Join urban naturalist and environmental educator Gabriel Willow to explore the surprising diversity of wildlife and ecology in New York City. Sessions include a 45-minute lecture followed by a 90-minute bird-watching walk in nearby Central Park. Bring binoculars if you have them!

Central Park is an internationally recognized birding hotspot, as it is an important stopover point for birds migrating through the region. Witness the spectacle of spring migration as songbirds follow the Atlantic flyway northwards. Look for warblers, orioles, tanagers, vireos and other migrants in the wilds of the park and learn about the finer points of their identification, conservation and ecology.

This tour ends at approximately 12 pm.

Meet at 92nd Street Y for a Pre-Tour Lecture at 9:30 am.

Pre-registration for all tours is required at least 24 hrs in advance. Attendees will be emailed details of the tour — with specific meeting location and additional directions 24 hrs in advance of the tour. All tours happen rain or shine.
